Not that this matters, or is even relevant to anime, but if you don't believe in souls, does that also mean you don't believe in ghosts?

I know so many of my friends have first-hand experience with the paranormal. Some of my friends live on an aboriginal reserve, and if you ask any one of the people there about it, they will have a ghost story to tell you. They literally live with ghosts every day and grow accustomed and unbothered by their activities of
- cupboards and doors opening/closing,
- footsteps going up and down the stairs,
- the toilet flushing while nobody else is home except you,
- and many more.
One of my friends even told me about how they and their little sister lives upstairs with the little sister's room being just across from their room. And one time, my friend hear her little sister laugh and giggle in the room across from her. However, when my friend went to check, nobody was there. My friend went downstairs to ask their dad where their sister was and whether or not he heard the laugh (which apparently he also heard it but didn't think much of it at first until my friend mentioned it to him), when my friend found out that their little sister was already dropped off at school.

In short, I think souls exist because otherwise, ghosts and ghost stories in general would not exist. If you have no experience with ghost stories however, I would not blame you for not believing in the existence of souls.
